crash-king you must be patient. when ZDFlammer2 has news he will post it. just like when TitanMarkII has news for the SMMC he will post it. Until those times come just sit and be quiet and patient. It will come but ya know what they say "A Watched pot never boils" which simply means that being impatient and watching something so closely will make the thing seem like its taking forever.

seriously the youth today is just impatient. confused.gif

yea sorry i have been very preoccupied with c&c3 at the moment but it will come out, soon as i have the time and i know what its like waitin for things (us guys in the uk get c&c on the 30th whilst every other country seems to have it)

good news is ive got a name which is TS: tiberian eclipse (as tiberium situation is getting worse (red zones) but there is improvement (with gdi discovering how to remove tiberium)

the dropship loadout feature allows u to select 3 sets of units (any units) for 3 dropships. these units will then arrive once uve built the dropship bay + a dropship with a mammoth mkIII (credit rebelmoon for the voxel, unfortunately its voxel is too big for the war factory so i used the dropship to deliver it. it works like the starport in emperor battle for dune but unfortunately after the 3 sets of units arrive u only get the mammy tank (still its a veteren tank with railguns).

------------------ PROBLEMS --------------------------------

unfortunately im facing a few problems which i really want to get fixed before its release, i want it to feel like as official as possible.

- basically i get cannot read scenario after each mission so i cant get it to work like a campaign. what ive done is hexed edited the game.exe making eclipse.exe. ive also made it read from a new battlefs called battleec (so i can give the campaign a name) and a new expand called (i dont remember lol) which will contain the maps under fsgdixx as this is the only way to make it work like a campaign.

this means that wen u load up just standard game.exe u can still play the normal campaign and normal game as the game.exe wont read the fsgdixx in the new expand name so it will read the official maps in expand01.mix . but if u load up eclipse.exe it will read the new maps in new named expand.mix. unfortunately i still get cannot read scenario once ive completed the mission and wen it tries loading up the next. WHY!!!!?? ARGH!!!!

- on the dropship loadout bigass map where u face both the forgotten and nod, i use the basic nod AI triggers that u just activate from finalsun and this works well as nod are aggressive. unfortunately i cant get forgotten AI to work which is really annoying as i want them to build medium tanks and mutants and old td vehicles which i add in the rules.ini . can someone help explain AI triggers to me as ive never had to use them before now and i would say ive made alot of singleplayer missions. if i cant get them to work i will still have to release the campaign but the map wont be quite as great as i wanted it to be.

- the final problem is C&C 3 demo being addictive meaning im occupied with that and wen C&C 3 comes out in the uk i will be with that. aswell as im busy with my hobbies, hanging out with my friends etc...

----------------------- SO TO SUM UP -------------------------

once ive got the 2 main problems sorted i can really finish the final maps which should be easy and i may add menu graphics etc... i always get inspired to add new stuff. originally i was gonna do one bigass mission (dropship mission) but it soon grew into a whole new expansion pack. expect something almost as big as firestorm, not as many missions but still 9 + missions with interesting features like the dropship bay and being able to play as forgotten and build mutants with new terrain (well ganstas terrain expansion and a few new structures), ive added tech structures like old cabal barracks which allows u to build cyborg units. this and there are new units like the surveyor/emmisary/mammoth mkIII/good ol commando and im planning on adding vulcan pods (hovering pod with minigun for shredding lil bastards), blackhand infantry (with lasers probably to replace cyborgs), possibly improved flametank, and some early avatar prototype (to replace reapers). gdi may also get a hovering tank (early predator design) on some missions.

so thats the update finished, hope this has got u all excited. if not theres always C&C3

If you want to get it working go to "singleplayer settings" in finalsun in the edit menu

then where it says "Dropships at start" choose a number from 0-3 (depending how many dropships you will have), over that and it wont work properly

then create a trigger that gives you empty dropships as reinforcements. the number of dropships you want is the number you gave for the "dropships at start" in singleplayer settings.

then when you play the map you will have to choose the units to fill these dropships and then when your trigger fires off the dropships will arrive filled with the units you chose on the dropship loadout

note: in the dropship loadout you cannot see a mouse cursor so you have to guess, i would download ETS from ppmsite.com which gives a mouse cursor in the dropship loadout. to get out of dropship loadout when you've finished selecting units press SPACE.

hmm.... i might submit this as a tutorial

The Dropship load-out is a bad idea... Because with single-player mapping, it's the number 3 cause of single-player map Internal error's (AI Triggers and Battle / tutorial.ini being 1 and 2)... I think you should cancer the dropship load-out in your campaign, Flamer... Just a suggestion. smile.gif

dont worry dude, its in 1 mission and its the thing that works the best and im happy i got it to work, wot problems do u mean it causes as i havent come accross any at the moment on that map. AI triggers are bullsh*t on that map as forgotten become forgotten (as u dont see them because they never attack).

im not sure wen i get it complete but it should be soon. biggrin.gif lol i hate sayin that because its a really bad excuse tongue.gif

well ive got to desperately fix the failed to initiate scenario problem and sort out AI triggers and then add maybe a new loading screen saying tiberian eclipse instead of firestorm. add the finishing touches and then clean up all the mixes as there are currently 5 ecache.mixs for this campaign because i cant seem to edit the first one.

ive also got a few more missions to do such as the forgotten mission and then a final bigass one where u beat the nod rebel faction, were tiberium goes weird (tiberium wars style) and generally how everything logically will get to tiberium wars in 10-12 years time.

if i can sort the failed to initiate scenario problem soon the campaign will be finished much sooner

the thing is i dont want to give u a half finished campaign. i wud rather wait longer but add more stuff like new units and multiplayer maps and bonus missions than release it with about 9 missions where u have to close ts and edit battlefr.ini everytime u complete a mission so u play the next one.

It's looking good. dance.gif Only thing that irks me a little is the tiberium crystal blending a bit with the bottom selections. I like it though, how everything is becoming greenish. It feels like an eclipse of tiberium.

cheers for the comments, yeah the tiberium crystals was a bit of a mistake, oh well it took me ages because i had to get all the coordinates and everything and it took forever. ive also added edited the loading screens with new images and new text.

the load up screen for the game is of a tiberian eclipse, im pleased with it, i wont post it up as i like people to not see to many spoilers sorry.

sorry about the lack of progress recently, ive been busy making TW Forest Fires. man TW maps take days to make.

i may not finish this totally, i know some people may be upset but to be honest this campaign has grown huge compared to what i originally intended. ive just been having trouble with stuff and theres still stuff to do like i have to add a lot of forgotten units. if i do not decide to finish this ill get most of the dirty work done like all the little mods and changes still left to do and the tidying up and then hand this over to a very competent mapper to finish the last 1/2 maps.

i know some people wont like me for saying this but worldbuilder is such a powerful tool and theres so much to do, its fresh and new and as ive being using finalsun for 5 years and it starting to feel so limited in comparison. dont get me wrong i may release a new map occasionally for ts but my main scene will be tw maps.

I agree ZD. Final sun does have that limited feel to it. I sure as hell won't be hating you and it's your decision for deciding this, and I respect that. I expect some damn good maps on TW from you though. Sad to see another campaign from another great mapper come to a halt, but like a phoenix, there comes rebirth from the ashes to a new generation of awesome maps.

Good luck with using World Builder. dance.gif

You could consider putting up the unfinished campaign. There are always modders that would like to finish what you started.

good. i was gonna get on earlier and say you should at least make it as close to finished as possible as if you left it in the midst of something then they wouldnt be able to finish that map or triggers for that map exactly how you wouldav.

i personally wish you could just try to finish it. but hey we all do stuff like this but cant quite get finished.

well i wish your campaign good luck for the future of it. Hopefully it will be picked up by someone promising and eventually completed and played. and i hope to see (well hear of and maybe eventually see) some TW maps from you. maybe a TW campaign in the future roll.gif

You rock Team Black notworthy.gif

But seriously, I believe Zdflamer pretty much gave this up. I think he started Tibwars mapping instead.
He's also inactive for the time being.
