Predator has released a monster podcast (right click save ass) its about 57 minutes its about:
-Balancing design gameplay the Scrin units (particularly the hovering Devourer Tank) and possible strategies
-A "generals power" unveiled is the ability for Nod to give stealth to a group of units
-a discussion of the mothership
-Intel Database as you progress through the gme you will get updates on the state of the world history changes in technology and what happened to Cabal and some more stuff

Mike Verdu's 5th developer diary has been postedat Gamespot which confirms that the name of the 3rd faction is the
Scrin

The Scrin have actually been in our solar system for many centuries concealed behind an asteroid beyond the orbit of Neptune their ships dormant and their crews in suspended animation they waited for a signal a blast of radiation that finally arrives just as the intensity of the Third Tiberium War on Earth reaches its peak

Yeah, I noticed that too.
Interesting, thinking back to Bittah's explaination of the C&C storyline...
Tesla contacted aliens, perhaps there was an exchange of technology between them, therefore the aliens have Tesla coil as well.
Or it's just a coincidence

Duh Nod found the scrin ship first. Then the loaded up the data and destroyed the computers.
Then GDI came and where to late to save the data.

I think it's just some kind of Scrin laser, it doesn't necessarily have to be a Tesla Coil.
There seem to be a lot of lasers in the game IMO

Not exactly... During TD Nod found a crashed Scrinsip and took the tacitus from it. At the end of TD, Kane built his very own Scrinship using the technology from the tacitus...
In TS Slavik is sent to collect the tacitus from Kane's Scrinship, but when Slavik gets to the underground hangar where it's supposed to be, it appears to be missing. Soon after that it appears that Vega took the Scrinship to whipe out GDI forces with it, but found that he wasn't able to control the scrinship and crashed it. Seeming Vega took the Scrinship to wipe out GDI forces, the Scrinship was near GDI territory. Kane wanted to have to tacitus back, so Nod quickly moved in with a task force, recovered the tacitus and moved out againn (well before GDI know what was happening). Once Nod recovered the tactus, they wanted to destroy the Scrinship so GDI wouldn't get it's hands on it, but GDI managed to prevent Nod from destroying it.

This is how it originally went... But I really doubt EA won't change or ignore these events in their story line.
