Mechs or Tanks, An age old C&C question, which is better? Options

Just a simple question seeing as how C&C 4 is going back to what seems a mech based game similar to TS (though not nearly as good). I personally think in the situation they have it set in Mechs seem logical since they allow you to be above the Tiberium. Tanks are ok but seem a bit illogical since Tiberium would make it hard to move around. I thought I'd ask for your opinions.

I usually count the main game and the expansion as one game. That's why I dragged YR in there.

Laser-like and Electric weaponry Sci-fi? Both exist

Yes, they do exist but not as they are in C&C.

Todays lasers shoot down projectiles, they can't destroy tanks or fry people like Prism Towers or Obelisks.

Electric weapons exist too, but they can only stun people. There are no Tesla Coils that can be used as a directed electric weapon, yet destroy armored vehicles.

How far is C&C1 out there? It also has Visceroids, the Obelisk of Light and Tiberium so yes, it's pretty far out there.

And there are many things in C&C1 that has roots in real life. Even more than there is in any other C&C game.

(Yes, I know that mammoth tanks, recon bikes etc. doesn't exist in real life)

I like a combination of the two. But I like mechs that make somewhat sense...nothing like the core defender or something like that..
