Height is one of the mech's many weaknesses, cus a high vehicle is a good target for everything.
I think mechs needs tanks to provide support, especially because mechs aren't the most stable machines...
Tanks arent sitting ducks, I know, but in urban combat they suck without infantry support.
As I said Infantry can operate alone, but usually massive causilityes occur. (reallly even in TS, just think about it: 30 infantry without aircraft, VS a well defended artillery unit
You can't just say mechs are not stable, seeing as we don't have mechs yet and that would be incorrect and who knows,
in the next 10-20 years we may be able to create a system that makes them more effective than in current theory.
You never said in urban combat, you only said in tanks in general which is vague,
and even in urban combat a well trained tank crew can take care of themselves.
Also you should never see TS as realistic, seeing as artillery don't work like that in real life.
Artillery pieces don't automatically start firing at units as soon as they come into range and they aren't deadly accurate,
so your idea of infantry is extremely flawed. Infantry can take short work of armored vehicles, aircraft, and other infantry
if they are deployed properly with the correct armament.
I really don't like how you assume and use games for real world references, your spelling bugs me as well.
