Seems i still get this ugly red beam bit being drawn? When I want thin beam similiar to laser turret?

This needs to be looked into. Its easily manipulated if i can find where it is set. I heard that YR has the option to change it?

yep, but only to remap color. You also can't decide in RA2 in which color the beam is shown (only between red and housecolor).
The best would be if it's like tiberium, having a special color key like "LaserColor=DarkRed".

In YR fixed e.g. ufo laser although LaserColor=DarkRed is possible solution as pd/vk did a similiar thing to color magnetron beams
