Another theme idea: "The ultimate showdown", (no, I haven't given up on this mod :P ) Options

OK folks, it appears as though the scrin thing wasn't enough to keep interest. It's too straightforward of an idea I think, and doesn't allow a lot of room for everybody's diverse imaginations. We need something everybody can give to..

So I scratched my thinking cap to think of other themes we could do, that would both allow for some imagination.
Personally, I kind of wanted more of a non-serious spoof type of mod, and I was thinking an "ultimate showdown" mod would work very well;
It won't be based directly off the song "Ultimate showdown", but it'll still have the same idea..

Two factions: Good guys, Bad guys (and explosions )
anything can be taken from any story, as long as pretty much everyone knows what it is.
This way, we could also put some of our public assets to good use, like LKO's Star Wars mechs, DaTS's Battlestar Galactica stuff, I know there's some Halo stuff, and probably a whole bunch more if we do some digging..

I want a lulzy mod. however I'd also like to see this mod go places. If Lin can take over running I'll be glad to keep helping with it as a normal mod.

as for the new community mod, what if we did a "Video Game wars" mod. the sides:
EA:
EA has mostly weak and expensive units, however they receive a steady stream of income from their "Mass Processors" that move across the battlefield like rolling bases, devouring everything they come across. if your unfortunate enough to be swallowed up by one then it will convert you to their side and severely weaken the unit. also they have many small soldiers called spammers. every two minutes the spammer well replicate itself, best take them out before they get too strong

Blizzard:
Blizzard has hardly any strong units and a smallish base. their tactics come from their use of their best unit "zergs" these are fast moving Korean people that will race across the battlefield and attack you with their clicking of doom. they also have a few powerful air destroyers that can lay waste to large regions but are extremely overpriced.

Petroglyph/Westwood:
Petro has a large base able to walk towards you with large armed mobile war factories or base crawl their cloaked teleport towers towards you. they also have the special ability "temporal injection" where they can summon up Star Wars units to fight for them, watch out if they get a Jedi.

Bungie:
Bungie has very few buildings, two vehicles and one incredibly powerful and expensive infantry unit. this unit can kill almost everything with little effort. they also have an ability called "flood" their bases will slowly produce veins capable of growing on any surface. any infantry unit that touches it will instantly turn into a creature controlled by bungie, the unit will move around for a minute then self destruct into a "flood tree" which will spread out more veins. the only ways to kill the flood are with tough vehicles (weaker ones will be killed before they can destroy it) or air units.


this mod might be hard on the TS platform. anyone object to maybe perhaps putting it on the UaW platform?
