i learned alot about windows vista from the other topic, so thanks guys but now i need to think of a good laptop to get. i will be usiing it for gaming, runing lots of multimedia off of it (flash, psp etc.) what should i get?

Get a desktop instead. You'll have a hard time finding a laptop that is genuinely good for playing games. My laptop (bought in 2004) could only just play games of the time (HL2 with most settings at low, Doom 3 with everything at low) and can't really play much from the last year or so. Unless you really need the portability (REALLY need) then don't spend money on a laptop. If you are going to get a laptop, buy the most expensive one you can afford (and check the graphics card to make sure it isn't something utterly crap). You can either spend £1,000 getting a relatively good spec laptop that will be obsolete in two years or spend a bit less on a desktop that will last for four years.
