its the first time trying to make something this complex completely by hand, and its a PITA, but it has its advantages.

theres reasoning behind it, LS. for the scrin to even have spaceships, they must be a technologically advanced race. since the laws of nature are the same everywhere in the universe, it's not strange for their technology to somewhat look like our own. apart from that, noone ever said they arent Human.
after playing prey, ive been playing with the idea of the scrin being humans too. this would explain the wars amongst the "aliens" themselves, as humans have a tendency to slaughter eachother.
it would also explain why Kane so desperately looks for them, wants to meet them. because those humans know how to exploit tiberium, and use it as the next step in human evolution. they would look different from humans, due to the tiberium mutations, and therefore be like the 'shiners'. i believe this could actually fit into your own story perfectly, LS.
