Ah, you should have more than one svchost.exe, daTS. There should be multiple instances of them, they perform various tasks that allow certain Windows functions to be accessed.
Here's a screenie of the list of services that just ONE of svchost.exe processes do, you can see some of the other services and sub-Explorer.exe processes that run on my computer normally (in the descriptions near the top you can see what csrss.exe is for, as well
