Try to use Hamachi. It an program that allow you to have an IP that is different that the one currently on your computer and you can create network (with password) and have others to join your network to chat, files transfer. But the best thing about Hamachi, is that persons curently logged on your network, share the same properties as a LAN network.

That the best to way to start a TS LAN game.
