cyborgs break in half when they are almost dead, from then on they limp around (their 'prone' animation).
you make a troop of people, when they're almost dead it switches to your alternate, "almost dead" animation, just like a cyborg logic.

LKO good idea ith the mortar guy team. a problem though would be putting em into APCs, as it would look a little silly loading all those guys into the same vehicle

to be more exact.
walking frames = 3-4 group size
prone frames =1-2 group size
Cyborg logic doesn't allows to prone while being attacked. Instead prone frames are used for their second damage stage.

According the Cyborg Logic: I always thought about making the Terminator (Arnold) from Terminator with first a normal tough guy image and a big gun and while prone a hinking on one leg image of the metal skeleton. (but off topic sorry)

another thing to think about is, how does the team turns? do they always stay in their relative position and only turn the body itself, or do they turn as a whole formation.

the first would make them look good while turning and moving. But makes problems while firing, thus they fire sometimes through a team member.
the second would make them look good while firing, but bad while turning. Because the whole formation turns, the outside standing soldiers seem to flip from one to the other position.
