darn..i used to know all that stuf, 3 years ago was my last chemistry class..
a "mole" is kind of like pi, in that it represents a number.
1 mole is [rounded to?] 6.08x10^28
you use this number to multiply by the protons or something to find the atomic weight
...I can't say for certain, I forgot exactly what you do with moles.
