Then use it. Opera has a small memory footprint, tends to be very secure and is very efficient. I still prefer Firefox for its extensibility (I honestly can't live without Greasemonkey and the Gmail notifier any more), the way it handles RSS feeds and the fact that I've become accustomed to its interface. Opera is still an excellent browser and I've tried on a few occasions to switch to it permanently but I've never been able to stay.

Firefox will always be my fav. browser, and it will always be better than Internet Explorer (or Exploder if you prefer lol).

I'm using opera, why ? It's good and it has an excellent layout I've heard it's safer and faster. Not saying that firefox or IE sucks! Just for me, opera rules And I want good browsers IE has low security. Also because opera is err... norwegian

You guys make the assumption that the browser is safer.. Ever think maybe it's the user? I've NEVER had a problem with firefox (minus the memory leak last year which i solved) But for me:

I wouldn't change Opera for anything else, it's just perfect, except for the fact that some sites wont work with it... (same problem as FF )

QUOTE (Nintyuk @ Mar 24 2007, 07:35 AM) http://www.firefoxmyths.com/ why dont you enliten your self before decideing Yeah, well, just FYI, a lot of the security issues mentioned on that page have been fixed through version updates (current is 2.0.0.3). What some people don't understand is that Firefox was developed as an alternative to I.E., and became popular because it was and still is better than IE in nearly every respect, just as Opera, Netscape, etc., are.

About that site, it seems to think that the people who make the claims are actually important, when it's just people who review Firefox or what have you. The developers don't say things like that, it's the overzealous fans who say it. And with regard to the statistical analysis they do all I can say is that statistics can be altered to prove anything. There was recently an article that claimed that Windows was the most secure OS and Apple continuously claim that they have the most secure operating system (which too is wrong) based on skewed stats.

There was recently an article that claimed that Windows was the most secure OS and Apple continuously claim that they have the most secure operating system (which too is wrong) based on skewed stats. I would hope you've come to be used to this sort of thing by now? From what I heard in that recent report about Windows being the most secure, the main thing that claim was based on was the rate at which discovered vulnerabilities were corrected. IMO it's an absurd way to judge an OS's security... Windows will never be the safest OS, as it will remain the most popular for quite a while.
