Random Mapmaker Not Working Options

Hopefully this fits the subforum, I wasn't very sure where to put this.

Anyway, my random mapmaker function in TS:Firestorm doesn't work right. It will generate and save maps but when I hit OK, it instead chooses some other 2-player map. I can change the variables all i want but it never properly chooses the random map i generated.




Does anyone know what might be causing this?

hrmm that's interesting...i can't think of anything that would cause that...has it ever worked properly for you?

at the very worst you could try an uninstall-reinstall and see if that works though i'm guessing it might not but it's worth the try perhaps.

i wish i could really help but i've never ran across that happening before, provided it's been awhile since i've been in the RMG.

I'm running a rules.ini mod but it didn't work prior to putting that in either, I think.
I'll check it again though.
If I can't figure it out I'll just stick with the premade maps or ones made and posted here

If you use Vista or Win7 try running the game as administrator (right click -> run as admin)

Or just turn off UAC.

Really strange, maybe it can be some drivers or anti virus messing with your game?

An incompatibility with some driver/AV software is quite unlikely if TS works well otherwise.

You could probably try reinstalling, although I've never seen this problem (It's easy to crash the RMG by rules.ini editing, but I've never seen the map selection going wrong).
