Basically, I thought I had a green arrow and I didn't. (Americans drive on the right side of the road, if you didn't know)
I wasn't speeding or otherwise driving irresponsibly like that other loser in his Neon, it was simply an error. They happen, but what can you do?

No injuries, both cars drivable, though the other car had a flat, since I hit it right near the right front tire.
It's totally drivable, but with the broken light, turn signal, and bumper, it's not safe to put on the road (and I'd probably get a ticket too)
I'll have to pay for my own repairs, and I should have enough thanks to good money saving habits...Although I still haven't been able to find work.

College isn't looking good either; I'm pretty sure I'll be able to pass everything, but by the skin of my nose.

I won't leave any further comments on this, but feel free to leave some of your own if you feel so inclined. If you spam here, however, I will flame & report you.

I really hate to see bad things happening to my friends. Good luck with your problems.

No offensive, but these forums are becoming more of a talk about life forum than a modding forum. I have posted my problems before, I won't do again.
Everyone has problems.

What if you set goals ? Set up a schedule on how much homework to do everyday ! wink1.gif

Wow, good thing nobody was hurt. I've seen cars around here in FAR worse condition than that and yet they still run perfectly.

i hope it was a cheap car. but i guess it looks worse than it is. cars are built to get crushed like that, to absorb the energy of the crash. its the reason you're not hurt.

That's why you have been a bit inactive at msn and here lately. I am hoping that you will get around a compromise being able to mod, go to college etc. at the same time! It's only 45 more days until the summer holidays. Use time to get yourself shaped.

(dorky sunglasses sold separately - and don't pay any attention to my sister's dumb thunderbird in the background XD )
I figure with only 63,000 miles on it, it was better to get it repaired than to buy a new car for the same price. I love that car wub.gif

Well this story isn't over, unfortunately.. since the accident I've had a pretty bad coolant leak, it's likely I broke the heater core - I ended up overheating the engine, and broke a gasket too.

I got the gasket replaced, and sealant was put in the system. We gave it a couple of weeks, and the leaking went down. I kept water in the tank for the rest of the summer, waiting to make sure for certain that the leaking was down, so I could add my coolant and not waste it.
Add college in the spring, and a job, and an addiction to chumming on forums..
I put all the car issues on the back burner, only keeping an eye on the coolant tank to fill it with more water. Hey, the car ran fine, what the heck.

Well last Thursday had the first freezing temperatures for the year. I saw the snow start falling and put coolant in the tank immediately... just, not enough coolant. And my idiot self didn't even run my car afterwards to get it into the system.

So the next morning I start my car, and it's not working. Has a big ol hole in the oil tube.
I call AAA and they tow my car to an auto place..
apparently the ice froze, and popped out all these knob-thingers (which are supposed to pop out in such a case, to prevent damage to the engine)
They need to put the knob-thingers back in, which is an easy job for the most part.. provided that they are accessible. Well one knob is beneath the transmission, which will have to be taken out in order to get to it - that'll cost about $400 USD on top of the $400 I've already paid for them to figure out what the problem was in the first place.

Then once all the knobs are in, they'll have to run the car to see if there's any more errors. If the engine's damaged, it'll be another $1000, or there could be other leaks. Not to mention the heater core, which will be another $400.

The moral of the story,
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS fix a car problem before it's too late!! A pound of prevention beats a ton of cure any day.

If I'd just paid the $400 for the new heater core last summer, it would have saved me ALL this crap!
Now I'll have to buy a whole new dam car, as these repairs will cost much more

AND THIS IS RIGHT AFTER DUMPING THE $1250 INTO THE COLLISION REPAIRS!!!!

Seriously though, that really sucks TB. Hope you don't wreck the new car. Same goes for you daTS. Just try not to go 30 mph over the speed limit with your new cars tongue.gif

Mind you, it might seem dumb, but those things are DAMN reliable.

Provided, of course, that it isn't a new model, the older (80's) ones were, anyways..

I said that out of mock envy wink.gif .. Not only does she have a Thunderbird, but she has a Cutlass Sierra that she uses in the winter.

I have.. none. The repairs on the Sunbird are going to cost too much, I just told the guy to melt my car into a block.

I got a Financial Aid reimbursement for a couple hundred, and GEICO is going to reimburse me when I cancel my insurance (since I paid my bill in advance)

That, and the money in my checking should be enough to get a decent car. Now, I just have to find a decent car. . .
