QUOTE Both exist, and what mutations are there in Red Alert 2? I usually count the main game and the expansion as one game. That's why I dragged YR in there. QUOTE Laser-like and Electric weaponry Sci-fi? Both exist Yes, they do exist but not as they are in C&C. Todays lasers shoot down projectiles, they can't destroy tanks or fry people like Prism Towers or Obelisks. Electric weapons exist too, but they can only stun people. There are no Tesla Coils that can be used as a directed electric weapon, yet destroy armored vehicles. QUOTE How far is C&C1 out there? It also has Visceroids, the Obelisk of Light and Tiberium so yes, it's pretty far out there. And there are many things in C&C1 that has roots in real life. Even more than there is in any other C&C game. (Yes, I know that mammoth tanks, recon bikes etc. doesn't exist in real life) As for the topic: I like a combination of the two. But I like mechs that make somewhat sense...nothing like the core defender or something like that..

QUOTE (Tore @ Mar 31 2010, 09:36 PM) (Yes, I know that mammoth tanks, recon bikes etc. doesn't exist in real life) However they aren't as sci-fi stylish as things like Tesla/Stealth tanks. RA2 also has things like Cloning Vats, Chronosphere & Chrono Miners, targetable weather control devices etc.. much bigger list than TD's list. QUOTE Actually, railguns are no longer just fiction. Well yea, railguns could be in use by the military in 2027. I'll stop this off-topicness now.

(Yes, I know that mammoth tanks, recon bikes etc. doesn't exist in real life) Just proves my point further. QUOTE Todays lasers shoot down projectiles, they can't destroy tanks or fry people like Prism Towers or Obelisks.
Electric weapons exist too, but they can only stun people. There are no Tesla Coils that can be used as a directed electric weapon, yet destroy armored vehicles. You were the one that said Electric Weapons and Laser weapons were Sci-Fi yet grouped them together as a whole. All in all, I suppose this is just one of those things everyone has completely different opinions on, like I was talking to someone earlier and he said he thinks that Red Alert 2 is way more sci-fi than Tiberian Sun and I just completely disagree. Strange isn't it?

Lasers should exsist! Electricity, just go to the power plant and get electrocuted! Also I agree with Aro, why would RA2 be considered more sci-fi than TS? TS is MUCH more unlikely to happen in real life. The Red Alert series could happen, because RA1 takes place during World War II.

By the way, Flame Tanks do exist, but in no way similar to how they appear in TD or TS.

QUOTE (Aro @ Mar 31 2010, 11:23 PM) You were the one that said Electric Weapons and Laser weapons were Sci-Fi yet grouped them together as a whole. Laser and electric "weapons" as in "things that kills people" doesn't exist. Lasers and electric "weapons" today are used as defensive systems. They can't kill people like they do in "Sci-fi". QUOTE Just proves my point further. How? I said that C&C1 has the most roots in reality.... RA2 and TS has none.... RA2 is far from being "slightly futuristic".... QUOTE The Red Alert series could happen There is a bigger chance that some meteor with some alien stuff crashes on to Earth than someone going back in time to erase Hitler. But you may never know.... QUOTE he said he thinks that Red Alert 2 is way more sci-fi than Tiberian Sun I think they are about the same But I just thought about something odd...why are we arguing about "whats more realistic?!" in a game series with: - Time travel - "Red lasers" - Mutants - Huge bipedal robots - Alien lifeforms taking over - Immortal people - Altered history... - Electric weapons - Cyborgs - Sonic weapons - "Spaceships" - Red shields that makes you temporarily invulnerable. - Mind control - Electric weapons - Telepathic abilities and more! This is what makes C&C awesome, so why arguing about whats best? .......I'm going to get some proper sleep now...I'm not functioning correctly....

.......I'm going to get some proper sleep now...I'm not functioning correctly.... I just don't like sci-fi that's over the top, Is that not clear enough!? QUOTE How? I said that C&C1 has the most roots in reality.... Oh my God, I was referring to this line: "(Yes, I know that mammoth tanks, recon bikes etc. doesn't exist in real life)" - You QUOTE RA2 is far from being "slightly futuristic".... Well my opinion stands that TS is more Sci-fi than RA2, and will forever stand as that. As I said in my previous post! "All in all, I suppose this is just one of those things everyone has completely different opinions on". 'Nuff said.

QUOTE (Devestator @ Apr 1 2010, 02:29 AM) Time Machines will work before meteor that starts the Tiberian War comes to Earth. I quess there is a much bigger probability that a huge normal meteor will come and kill us all before we learn how to travel in time.
