QUOTE (Crimsonum @ Nov 17 2011, 09:33 PM) What I don't understand is how the US government thinks it can control sites that are based outside the country. Isn't that invasive? From what I've read, a lot of the hardware that keeps popular sites online is in the US and by shutting those servers down those sites would become inaccessible by the rest of the world aswell. However, if the server hardware is on other countries they shouldn't really have a way of shutting a site down. This could still be a threat for non-US based sites though, since the US makes such a law, other countries might follow their example. http://www.mozilla.org/sopa/ |

They actually have the old games listed on their site? The site is also much faster, cleaner and better-looking than the old one. This just really upped my respect for this new studio. Also, http://www.commandandconquer.com/en/blogs/blog/84 .. They seem to care more about the community now. Now they just need to continue this support and actually make a good game. |

A friend of mine just linked me this: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/21...t-cc-to-return/QUOTE Commandingly, they sound like they want to conquer strategy again. QUOTE “I can tell you it’s a Command & Conquer game for the PC, but we’re not yet at a stage where I can go into any details— we’ll be prepared to make a more formal announcement later in the year. Seems that they're taking a bit more time this time. Although this sounds more interesting than C&C4, I'm not expecting anything great yet. |

QUOTE (mg1999 @ Jan 31 2011, 02:58 AM) Is there a way to change the mission briefing? Yes, by editing mission1.ini. The syntax is pretty much self-explanatory, just look at how all WW briefings have been done. QUOTE (mg1999 @ Jan 31 2011, 02:58 AM) Is there a way to spawn a unit that has low health? Not as far as I know. Or at least I've never done that. |

QUOTE (Blackhand Commando @ Jan 27 2011, 07:39 PM) I have to say that C&C Generals is one of the best C&Cs in my oppinion. And if you don't agree, download shockwave mod 1.0 from moddb for Generals ZH. It makes it 10 times better than any other RTS... If we take mods into consideration, then almost all games in the world are awesome. Generals has no story, has a lot of illogical ideas (woo, someone brought us money crates to the battlefield to harvest?), the engine is slow, the UI sucks, and it generally has nothing to do with the C&C serie. Feels more like something like Starcraft. The campaign was also rather boring. I don't know about gameplay since it's been a long time since I tried to play it last time, but it didn't feel like it would've been anything special. As for "10 times better", my opinion is exactly the opposite. |

QUOTE "Taking a franchise like Command and Conquer and expanding it to a wider audience is part of the strategy." I find this funny. They're trying to expand it to a "wider audience", yet everything they've done is forgetting about the old fans (removing them from the audience) and let the series then die with their rushed products under the shadow of other, better quality strategy games. So the audience has just got smaller over time. After the failures of Generals, C&C3 (although it was ok), RA3 and C&C4 I couldn't really care less tbh. |

QUOTE (Aro @ Dec 25 2010, 04:08 AM) The missing or corrupt DLL error has been fixed by setting Windows 98/Me compatibility mode and run as administrator on game.exe during the installation. If possible, you shouldn't do this on XP since the compatibility mode just causes the loading time to get about 10 times longer. Nice work otherwise, although in my opinion it should give you more installation options like whether you want to install Finalsun or not. |

QUOTE (Devastator @ Dec 21 2010, 01:26 AM) Does anyone still care about TD other than Nyerguds? Well, it doesn't have many modders but the latest version of Nyerguds' patch has some players (at least many thousands). |

QUOTE (Blackhand Commando @ Dec 20 2010, 06:48 PM) thats all true, but the MAIN reason is that c&c games are dieing. The old ones are dieing cus theyr old, the new ones bornt dead... Actually I think the old ones are still well alive, just this forum isn't. I think TS has lately got more popular again, partially thanks to Twisted Insurrection which has lately been very succesful at ModDB. As for not posting anything, I don't really have anything to post except when someone has trouble with modding. I don't make public assets anymore since they're so underrated compared to mods' assets, instead I'm slowly doing stuff for DTA and TI. When you make a map and release it at here and PPM, it gets about 100 downloads at best, while the mods get thousands and thousands of downloads (so more people are enjoying the map which you worked hard on). |
